Prenatal, Postpartum, & Newborn Care
Appointments are typically one hour long, giving ample time for questions and personalized support. The initial postpartum visit takes place in the comfort of your home, regardless of whether your baby was born at home or at the birth center. For families planning a hospital birth, I also offer prenatal care only.
I offer basic newborn care for the first six weeks of life, including Vitamin K and antibiotic eye ointment at birth. A Critical Congenital Heart Defect (CCHD) testing, as well as newborn screening is performed at home visit.
Birth Center
For families who prefer a birth center setting, I have privileges at a local licensed birth center. The birth center charges an additional $1,500 facility fee, paid directly to them. Nitrous oxide is available for pain relief for an additional fee but may only be used at my discretion, as it is not safe or appropriate for everyone.
Home Birth
I offer home birth for families in Amarillo, Canyon, and Bushland. Travel for home birth is considered on a case-by-case basis, but families must live within 20 minutes of a hospital with a labor and delivery unit. I bring emergency medications and resuscitation equipment to every home birth to ensure safety. Families choosing home birth will also receive a home birth kit, including a birth pool, for those desiring a waterbirth.
Preconception / IUI
I offer comprehensive preconception consultations tailored to your unique journey. Services include preconception counseling, STI/STD testing, hormone testing, and intrauterine insemination (IUI) to support same-sex couples, individuals choosing single parenthood, and families facing challenges with conception.
